Hi, I'm Luca 👋
Frontend developer, thinker & doer
What I Do
I help companies build and scale their frontend engineering — from architecture and tooling to team leadership and hiring. With over 16 years across insurance, retail, finance, and private banking, I've seen what works and what doesn't when it comes to delivering software that serves real users.
Currently, I lead a frontend chapter of 13 engineers at a major Swiss bank, where I focus on aligning technical decisions with business outcomes. Before that, I led frontend teams at Migros, Vontobel, and AXA — building everything from e-commerce platforms to real-time financial products and cross-framework component libraries.
I write about software engineering on this blog, covering topics like frontend architecture, team leadership, and the principles that guide my work — YAGNI, Rule of Least Power, and keeping things simple. I also publish AI-generated podcasts that turn my articles into deeper conversations.
Why me?
Lead Frontend Engineer and Line Manager with 16+ years of experience in multiple countries and industries. Skilled at identifying optimal technical solutions and passionate about leading tech teams. I focus on combining human interaction with advanced software development, guided by "Make sense" and "YAGNI" principles.
I choose the right tool for each task. My experience allows me to think outside the box and find optimal solutions for abstract challenges. I embrace the KISS principle, striving for simplicity in all I do. Leveraging AI and my expertise, I can swiftly create unique and effective solutions.
